Mead is a fermented alcoholic beverage made from honey, i.e. wine made from honey. It is a natural drink with a sweet, heady taste and a delicate honey bouquet. It is created by fermenting a honey solution with the help of a noble culture of wine yeast. Mead produced using traditional technology usually contains 12-14 % alcohol.
MEAD HAS ALWAYS BEEN CONSIDERED A SOURCE OF LIFE, WISDOM, COURAGE AND STRENGTH.
It was known to the ancient Greeks, Romans, Celtic and Germanic tribes. It is also rightly considered to be an Ancient Slavic drink. Our ancestors, the ancient Slavs, drank mead at important family and tribal festivals, which suggests that they attributed an exceptional and festive character to this drink. HONEY is considered to be the oldest drink in the world. It is believed that the first mead was created before man appeared on Earth. In the hollows of trees inhabited by bees, honey fermented together with rainwater to form the first mead. It was later discovered by the first man, and he liked it so much that he started making it for his own use.
